Raised or vaulted ceilings - features of a Hunterstruct design - add an airy feeling to rooms, as do open floor plans. Both touches add little to building cost, but add greatly to interior spaces. Open floor plans and vaulted ceilings do more than create the illusion of space. These techniques extend sight lines vertically and horizontally by reducing visual obstructions such as partition walls.
